Environmental law has long been an integral part of our maritime practice. On the civil claims side, we have dealt with marine pollution cases arising through ship collisions, groundings and dock damage situations, as well as with spills during bunkering or cargo operations. We have also been involved with enforcement cases resulting from marine pollution, notably in defending shipowners and charterers where the authorities have sought penalties or fines following a pollution incident.
We have crossover experience into analogous non-marine situations and have also provided transactional due diligence advice, usually working with lead transaction counsel.
